I have been fortunate enough to have a portfolio of careers, ranging from opening a 200 seater restaurant at the age of 21, working in the City of London for the oldest Investment Trust in the world, to working alongside my husband (Jason) for over 20 years in a variety of entrepreneurial pursuits, ranging from Consulting to the Fund Management World, to various undertakings in the Property field. I am a mum to two young adults.
I would love for you to join me, whilst I share my eclectic world. No two days are the same and always end with cooking an evening meal.
My travels to far-flung places are all via my table, visits to farmers markets and little obscure shops that sell exotic ingredients from all over the world.
I hope you will enjoy reading what I post, trying recipes and sharing my ideas with your friends and family.
Without you as company, my journey would be less the richer.
Welcome to my world.
Lovely, page Marissa. You were always a skillful and talented person in the kitchen.
Your passion for food and presentation thereof has always fascinated me.
You go beyond the norms to explore and extend your knowledge to share with others.
Wishing you every success.
Warmest regards from South Africa. Maria Avraamides.

Dear Marissa,
I wanted to thank you for all your wonderful posts yesterday on Facebook. As you know I, like you, have children home on study leave at the moment and your lunch ideas are so much appreciated. I made a carrot and coriander soup today – recipe by a slightly better known cook 😉 – and my daughter said can we have Marissa’s Spiced Parsnip next time! I should have know she’d prefer yours. Such an inspiration – keep up the good work for us all x
Hi Anne I’m beaming and tell your daughter she has the biggest hug coming her way! Thank you for making my recipes and boasting my ego, you are truly the best! Have a wonderful day and I am so glad my Facebook posts will help you cater for your children while they are in study leave. I’m so happy you are enjoying what I post and I could get them up without your proofing, I’m honoured to have you onboard. Kind regards Marissa
