Easy Brunch Ideas at Home | Mary’s Magic Brunch Formula
Mary’s Magic Brunch Formula
There’s something special about gathering with friends at home: no crowds, no rushing off the table, just time to sit and catch up. If you’re looking for an easy brunch menu to serve, my friend Mary has what I like to call ‘Mary’s Magic Brunch Formula’.
There’s a bowl of thick Greek yoghurt (you can serve vegan yoghurt if needed), fresh seasonal fruit or thawed frozen fruit, a jar of honey for those who like a little extra sweetness, and a bowl of mixed seeds or your favourite granola for added crunch and nourishment. We start with a coffee, fruit and the yoghurt. Each of us, in our own time, mixes up what we like, some combining everything into one bowl, some keeping it simple and eating the elements on their own. Everyone makes their bowl just how they enjoy it.
Then we move onto freshly warmed croissants and pastries with preserves and another hot drink. Mary makes the best coffees. Her hubby says, ‘The talent is in your choices.’ They have an amazing bean-to-cup machine that makes the frothiest cappuccinos.
There’s always a jug of infused water on the table, something light and refreshing. Our favourite is cucumber and mint. It’s not a groundbreaking formula, and that’s the beauty of it. There is a calmness in simplicity. The menu creates a relaxed and easy flow to the time we have together, and it allows the host to enjoy their time too.
So, with a tub of yoghurt, some pastries and a few optional extras, you can bring your friends together for a wonderful memory and time to download and catch up.
