These are such cute quick knits and are lovely additions to Christmas stockings if you live outside the UK and can’t contribute to their drive.

Ideas:

They make a fab festive table name placeholder, pop them on a little cardboard, and write your guests names.

They are a unique and great table gift for your friends and family to take away with them.

I have added fluffy pom-poms to the top, which is optional, and they were stitched on from the underside.

If you are gifting the knitted hats individually, you can puff them out with a few cotton balls.

They make cute tree decorations if you loop a ribbon around the pom-pom or sew a loop through the base if you have chosen not to add pom-poms.

It is also a fun way to teach beginners how to knit something other than scarves.

This pattern is great to make with any leftover wool you have.

I used my leftover wool and size 4 or 5 needles, depending on the yarn.

Match your needles to the wool you have indoors.

Miniature Christmas Hat Knitting Pattern

Cast on 16 stitches.

1st row: (right side) Purl
2nd row: Knit
3rd row: Purl
4th row: cast off 1 stitch, knit
5th row: cast off 1 stitch, knit
Repeat row 5 until you are left with 5 stitches on the needle.
Cast it off and sew it all together..
