Harry’s Barbecue Sauce

For me nothing creates as much culinary happiness on a weekend, than having a barbecue.

This is my son Harry’s recipe for barbecue sauce, he was given a BBQ book by a good friend of mine for his 12th birthday. Harry tweaked the recipe (he is his mother’s child) and came up with this delicious barbecue sauce.

My son Harry’s barbecue sauce is quick & easy. He has managed to get a brilliant balance of sweet and tangy, it is delicious.
Marissa:
Recipe type: Sauces & Dressings
Cuisine: South African
Servings: 8
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup peach chutney
  • 2 Tablespoons Nandos Peri Peri Mild Sauce
  • 62ml water
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 ½ Tablespoons vinegar
  • 6 level Tablespoons brown sugar
Method
  1. Add all the ingredients to a saucepan.
  2. Stirring constantly, simmer the sauce for 5 minutes.
  3. Serve warm with your barbequed meat, fish, vegetables or potatoes.
Tips
For me the balance of the sauce is perfect.
However, if you like a hotter sauce increase the Nandos Peri Peri Sauce.
For a more vinegary sauce, make Harry's recipe and add and stir an extra teaspoonful of vinegar, until you reach a level of tang you love.
Happy Barbecuing
