Bresaola Rocket & Parmesan Rolls

A lovely light canapé or starter that can be assembled in minutes and is a great addition to your catering repertoire.

I serve these Bresaola Rocket & Parmesan Rolls with a welcome drink or as a starter to an Italian meal.

They are easy to roll up just before your guest arrive, or made and covered in cling film or Beeswax Food Wrap and kept in the fridge for a couple of hours. When your guests arrive all that’s needed is to plate up and garnish with the olive oil and parmesan cheese.

They are enjoyed by adults and children alike. Even non rocket lovers can’t resist them.


Scatter leaves of rocket onto a board or plate.

Carefully separate a slice of Bresaola, laying it on a plate.

Place a handful of wild rocket onto the edge of the Bresaola slice.

Firmly roll the rocket and Bresaola slice together.

Just before serving, add grated parmesan cheese and drizzle olive oil over the top of each roll.

I suggest as a canapé serving 2 per person and 3-4 as a starter portion to an Italian style meal.
