Valentine Celebrations with Children

Being married for over 21 years we have covered most of the Valentine bases – gone away for the weekend, booked restaurants, popped over to France for the day, then cue in the children and we have hired a babysitter and gone for a meal. For us the most successful Valentine Days were spent at home.

We got the children into bed and we would have a relaxing dinner for two at home. We set our table, lit candles, bought lobsters or prawns and had a wonderful celebration in our home. Without the need to commute to a venue, you have longer to chat. It eliminated being worried about the children, ours would always get sick around the time of a celebration. So consider for a few years to have cosy Valentine celebrations at home, honestly these years fly by, so enjoy them.
