Chicken Recipe with Cider and Spices

Chicken is a go-to food when you walk through the door and need a meal on the table quickly. It is also a great feed a crowd dish too.

Next time you are looking to add a different flavouring to your chicken try adding a bottle of sweet cider, chopped carrots, chopped peeled and cored apples, a stick of cinnamon, fresh or dried sage and a couple of bay leaves.  Add the mixture to your roasting tin with your whole chicken or to your slow cooker. I used the flavours in a quick pan-fried chicken meal, which was delicious served with rice.  The spices and cider give the chicken a lovely depth of flavour.

If you have frozen any turkey from Christmas, this is a great way to add a twist to your leftovers.
